Abadía de Montserrat - EN 1 November 2026
Sunday, November 1, 2026.- During the conventual Mass for the Solemnity of All Saints, Br. Josep Antoni Díaz-Pavón i Gómez made his solemn profession in a liturgical service presided over by Abbot Manel Gasch i Hurios, Abbot of Montserrat.

"Why become a monk? Well, to become a monk in order to follow Christ, because I believe it is a way of being faithful to this following, because I believe it is a life that facilitates and promotes it, in so far as we have the capacity to dedicate ourselves to deepening the words of the Gospel in a coherent life, and I feel good living it in this way. [...] The call came to me while praying, in the most surprising way: 'Lord, what do You want from me, where do You want me?' And listening to my heart, I found that this was my place", notes Br. Díaz-Pavón.

Br. Josep Antoni Díaz-Pavón i Gómez holds degrees in Psychopedagogy and Journalism, as well as a diploma in Teaching. He was born in Elda, Valencian Country (Diocese of Orihuela-Alicante), on November 2, 1983. He entered the Abadia de Montserrat as a novice on August 6, 2020, and made his simple (temporary) profession on September 3, 2022.
