Monday, October 26, 2026.— Last Saturday, October 24, the Abbey of Montserrat hosted a day of reflection and musical outreach focused on the figure and work of Johann Sebastian Bach, one of the primary figures of the Baroque style and an inspiration for composers such as Mozart and Beethoven. The initiative, promoted by the Oblates of Montserrat, drew a large audience around the German genius.

Under the title "Johann Sebastian Bach: Dialogues Between the Music of Heaven and the Words of the Earth: Passions,Masses, and Cantatas," the event was led by Fr. Jordi-Agustí Piqué i Collado, a monk of the Montserrat community and current Prior of the Abbey of Montecassino (Italy). Fr. Piqué, with an extensive career as an organist, high-level educator, and former director of the Escolania—during which he founded the monastery's Capella de Música—delivered a masterful perspective on the symbolism and depth of Bach's repertoire in the Puig i Cadafalch hall of the Museu de Montserrat.

The event, which offered free admission with advance registration and a pay-what-you-wish system, concluded with highly positive feedback from the attendees.
