Monday, October 5, 2026.- Abadia de Montserrat and the University of Girona are organizing the 13th University Conference on Religious Tourism on November 16 and 17, 2026. This year's event is entitled "Gaudí: Between Nature, Symbol, and the Sacred" within the framework of the Gaudí Year.

This interdisciplinary gathering aims to delve into the relationship the architect established between spirituality, nature, and art, while reflecting on how to interpret religious heritage and manage the visitor experience in a context of mass tourism.

The program, coordinated by Dr. Dolors Vidal and Dr. Sílvia Aulet, will begin with a welcome address by the Abbot of Montserrat, Fr. Manel Gasch, and will feature presentations by prominent experts such as Jordi Faulí, Chiara Curti, Carles Rius, Jaume Balateu, Xavier Perarnau, and Laia Vinaixa. In addition to the academic sessions, attendees will enjoy a tour of the First Glorious Mystery of the Monumental Rosary led by Esteve Serra, listen to the singing of the Salve and the Virolai by the Escolania of Montserrat, and participate in a panel discussion on current interpretative challenges with researcher Jordi Tresserras and guides from AGUICAT.

The registration fee is 90 euros (80 euros for Amics de Montserrat), and registration must be completed via an online form before November 8. Places are limited.
