Near 200 Ukrainian children and young people make a pilgrimage to Montserrat to offer traditional dances and songs

The Abadia de Montserrat has hosted Ukrainian choirs and dance groups, split across two days, this September.

Wednesday, September 30, 2026.- Almost 200 children and young people from Ukraine made a pilgrimage up to the Abadia de Montserrat on September 23 and 30, offering a showcase of traditional Ukrainian dances and songs.
 
 
On the one hand, on Wednesday, September 23, 110 children and youth members of the Mosaika choir from the city of Sumy and a traditional dance group from Odesa performed in the squares and inside the basilica.

On the other hand, on Wednesday, September 30, 82 members of the Stolyarsky choir from Odesa, along with the folk dance groups Druzhba and Vesnyanka from the cities of Winnipeg and Rivne, performed.
 
 

The groups offered glimpses of their popular culture and sang songs dedicated to the Virgin Mary under the hospitality of the Abadia de Montserrat during their stay in Catalunya.
