Chapter 7:1-4
Regla de Sant Benet
The cry of humility. The beginning of the chapter makes itself heard with the force of a biblical cry: “Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Humility is neither an external appearance nor a feigned baseness, but a deep disposition of the heart, mind, and soul before the transcendent and creator God. Recognizing that we are creatures with our limitations and weaknesses frees us from fantasies of self-sufficiency. This path does not seek to diminish the person or leave them without self-esteem, but to shape them in the image of Christ and make them capable of a profound joy that can sincerely welcome brothers and sisters. Humility is the ladder that leads us to the true freedom of the children of God.

But how has he acted? "Rather have I been of humble mind than exalting myself; as a weaned child on its mother’s breast, so You solace my soul".
