Sunday XXVI (Ez 18, 25-28)
Don't we often think that God should have the memory of a good accountant: knowing how to draw up a balance sheet at the end of life and see what the remaining balance is? That is why, when we read: "You think: The way of the Lord is not right", isn't it true that this is our way of seeing things? Because, on the contrary, God's criteria are different: he looks at the present moment, which is why he tells us: "if a wicked person turns away from their sin and does what is just and right, they will save their life". Well, he does not take the past into account. Repentance and forgiveness, with God, always go hand in hand. Why is it so hard for us?
