Sunday XXIV (Sir 27, 30 – 28, 7)
How many times bad feelings pierce and poison the heart. True wisdom is recognized as such when it is able to realize what destroys one's own life. The truly wise person, then, knows how to master what boils within. Today's text begins like this: "It is hateful to get angry and hold a grudge, but the sinner does so and does not wish to be appeased". The wisdom of the believer keeps in mind what the book of Sirach tells us: "If a man harbors anger against another, how can he expect healing from the Lord?".

Lord, may I know how to forgive and may I know how to humbly receive Your forgiveness.
