Saturday XXIII (1Co 10, 14-22)
Believing requires that I open myself exclusively to God’s values and desire to live by these values. If I introduce other values into my life, if I place my trust in other things, even without realizing it, deep down I am saying that my faith, my belief is at the antipodes of God. This is what Paul says to the Corinthians today: "You drink the cup of the Lord: you cannot also drink the cup of demons; you participate in the table of the Lord: you cannot also participate in the table of demons". Review your daily life: are there things, attitudes that, in fact, are in contradiction with God’s values?
Lord, may every Eucharist be for me a path of conversion and a path of communion.
