A thousand
years
of
monastic life

Thousand years ago, a group of monks sent by Abbot Oliba arrived at Montserrat to establish a Benedictine community around the hermitage of the Virgin.
Since then, thousands of men have made monastic life at Montserrat their life project. Today, this project continues to make sense for those who search personal and spiritual growth.

Under the motto “Montserrat, a life project”, we invite men between the ages of 20 and 40 to live a monastic experience—to ask themselves whether this could be the life project for them, and to discern it in an environment of prayer, work, and community.

Montserrat, a space for discernment and for finding answers

Values define the life project we offer at Montserrat. Monastic life is a contemporary response to the search for meaning, authenticity, and fulfillment.

We believe that living with solid principles and values leads to real happiness, based on service to others and a deep relationship with God.

Després d’acabar els estudis i treballar uns anys, va arribar el moment en què em vaig fer una pregunta aparentment simple: sí o no? I vaig entrar a Montserrat.

La meva vinculació amb Montserrat s’inicia quan vaig començar a conèixer personalment alguns monjos i em vaig interessar pel que vivien.
